It wasn’t the soft music, it wasn’t the perfume; it was the romance of the candle lit room.  Her beauty glowed in the candlelight and I could see the expression on her face revealing then and there that I had worked a little magic.  She had a radiance that only the magic of a candle lit room could give.  It was part instinct and part common sense that told me making the night special would begin with creating a romantic atmosphere.  It could be that Cupid himself whispered into my ear the single word that set me on the path to becoming the sensitive, warm man that women swoon over.  The one word, drifting from cupids lips was “candles”.  I heeded his word and saw that the woman I vowed to tame was falling into a love stupor with each and every waft of scented smoke drifting above us and filling the air with romance.

I sensed that her spirits arose as she moved slowly from candle to candle, delicately touching each jar, closing her eyes slightly and letting the sweet aromas relax her.  I was then the man that she had often met in her dreams; a shining knight that would sweep her gently off her feet and carry her away; the hero whose strong arms offered her a refuge of safety and comfort.
